Real lives. Real change.
Every story reflects our core belief: persons with disabilities must lead, thrive and shape their communities. These are their stories of dignity, leadership, learning and belonging.
The Sound of Opportunity.
How a single day of hearing screening in Kakiri Town Council became a mission, identifying 26 "silent" barriers in one community.
26 referral slips. One new mission.
On World Hearing Day, Lamicare DRO Uganda had a choice: add to the noise with posters and speeches, or take clinical action. Supported by a catalytic grant from the Coalition for Global Hearing Health (CGHH), we chose clinical action.
In a single day of hearing screening in Buwanuka Village, Kakiri Town Council, we identified 26 children and adults who needed follow-up care. Those 26 referral slips are now our new mission, because identification is only the start.
Stories of dignity in action.
From leadership cohorts to inclusive play, these are moments of real change, shared with permission by the people at the centre of them.
